About the author:
I was born and grew up in a small town in southern China. My childhood was very different from the childhood of American children that I have seen in the past seven years. When I was little, I used to pick water chestnuts in the mud, roast sweet potatoes in the backyard, raise silkworms as pets, and jump rope with my neighbors.

Those memories are forever precious to me because they always remind me how caring my mother was and how close my bond was with my siblings.

At school, my favorite thing was to write. At the beginning I wrote in Chinese. Once I learned more English, especially after I went to University as an English major, I started to love to write in English too. I have always dreamed of being a writer, a storyteller, creating interesting stories.

After I graduated from University, I became an English teacher in a primary school in China. I loved teaching children, and my students loved me. They showed me their pure minds and beautiful souls. That was the first thing that inspired me to write children’s books. The second was my passion for traveling. I have travelled to five continents, and I hope to travel more. During my trips I have seen beautiful children, nature, animals, and adults. I have heard many interesting stories from different cultures. This, too, has been a big inspiration for me to write children’s books.

Last, but most importantly: I’m a proud aunt of my niece, Candy, and nephew, Leon. Their bubbly personalities always give me new ideas to create. I am the kind of aunt who loves to tell stories. Watching Candy and Leon growing up has inspired me to create stories for children.

I hope you enjoy my books. There is more to come!

Praise for Bentley Hippo:

"Bentley is an adorable hippo who isn't treated nice by Jaxson. Bentley considers Jaxson a friend and teaches him how to be kind. A wonderful book about kindness, sharing, and friendship. Beautifully illustrated, Bentley will become a friend to his little readers."

"Bentley teaches sharing in a positive and pleasant manner. This is a book that teachers and parents and all caregivers can use for an effective discussion on sharing. The big plus beyond the moral of sharing were the illustrations - bright and colorful pictures."

"The Adventures of Bentley Hippo: Inspiring Children to Share is an important book because it has a very strong theme, which is sharing. Another element that I liked about this book was that the illustrator created drawings that suited the story very well. The characters were very sweet and showed sharing in a very good way for readers to understand it. I liked that the main characters were animals because it added a fantasy element to the story. There was nothing that I did not like about this book. I would rate this book 5 of 5 stars and recommend it to all ages; it is especially important for younger readers to read this book to understand sharing."

Also available as a video flip book!

Hello,

I am Arygyro Graphy, creator of Bentley Hippo and author of The Adventures of Bentley Hippo Inspiring Children's 5-book series. Throughout my childhood and life, i experienced bullying, discrimination, rudeness, hatred and harassment. While I remained silent, thinking thoughts of fear and inferiority would go away, they were embedded in the back of my mind and to my surprise often found their way to the forefront of my mind affecting everyday decisions. In my adulthood, I witnessed more and more children experiencing the same. Values, common sense, compassion were replaced with people demanding, and having this sense of entitlement, and bullying became a bigger issue as it was no longer in physical form only. I decided to create Bentley, in hopes of giving children a sense of comfort and hope that things will be ok. It is through Bentley that valuable lessons such as caring, sharing, kindness, friendship and gratitude would be taught.

Book 2 also available on Amazon.

'Billy Makes a New Friend!' by Ayala Saar, Illustrated by Kathleen Sue L. Mallari

This story is about sharing and making new friends. Billy is a little boy who loves his toys and in particular his trains. He wants somebody to play with. However, how he can he makes friends if he does not know how to share?

Take a sneak peek inside the book:
One day, his mother's friend and her little boy Chris came over. Mom and her friend had coffee and talked. Billy took Chris into his room to play, but Billy did not want to share his toys; he gave Chris an old ball to play with.

As the afternoon wore on, Billy did not feel good about what he had done. After Chris and his mother went home, Billy talked to his mother about sharing his toys. A week later the two families meet again and Chris invites Billy to play. Billy sees Chris' terrific train and they both enjoy playing with it. In that gesture, Billy and Chris become friends who can share.

This colorful book is excellent as a bedtime story for early learners and beginning readers.

It is written in rhyme, and this is my favorite kind of children's book, and I know many children love rhyme. This is a story with a lesson that every child will wrestle with. The illustrations by Kathleen Sue L. Millari, are beautiful, vibrant and colorful, and they depict the adventures of Billy and Chris. Parents/teachers will enjoy reading this book to their children. The children may discuss all of their adventures in sharing, and the feelings they have when they do not want to share. The lessons learned are important for everyone. An important book for any child."……

Lil Glimmer

Lil Glimmer by Angela Muse is a charming story of a little star of the same name. He desperately wants to run around the sky to play, and is very frustrated when his mommy tells him he has to wait his turn. Right now, the sun is out shining and playing. Lil Glimmer has to wait until night comes for his turn.

Mom talks to him about taking turns and being patient. He tucks into a cloud to go to sleep until Mom wakes him up at nightfall. She reiterates the concept of sharing with Mr. Sun, then sends Lil Glimmer off into the night.

He plays hard, swinging on the moon, riding comets, and having a lot of fun. When daytime begins to break, he realizes that Mr. Sun is back up, and it is time to let him have his turn.

The story is absolutely adorable. It teaches the values of patience and sharing in a way that speaks clearly to young children. The vibrantly colored illustrations exhibit the bright glow of the sun and the stars. The characters are cute and relatable to children, as they have all had to take turns and share with others.

This is a book that parents can share with their children and refer to during discussions that emphasize the values of patience and sharing. It's a delightful story that will entertain young ones during story times both at school and at libraries. It could also easily segue into a science unit on the solar system, as there are stars, the sun, the moon, a comet, and pictures of planets.

This is the first collaboration between author Angela Muse, and her illustrator brother James McCullough. I look forward to seeing their future projects come to life!
